ONE STEP AT A TIME, BABES

Frequently Asked Questions

I've been photographing weddings for 10+ years and have a fine-tuned workflow that ensures a timely delivery of stunning images - your core memories. Here's a bit more about how I work.

Inquire - Get at me with your vision & book a call with me here. I'll get back to you within 48hrs and we'll hop to it.

Get acquainted - Let's actually get to know each other - this means so much to me because it leads to trust and candor. I love video chats with both of you on the call. Then, you let me know what's most important to you; all the fun details, all the unanswered questions, I wanna know.

Lock in - Secure your date in my books & let's get the party started (fr, let's grab a drink or a mocktail, and think about engagement shoots??)

&then... I'm with you every step of the way, capturing all the joy, the gorgeousness and the feelings, and telling your story with care.

How many photos can we expect?

I typically deliver 50-100 high resolution photos per hour of coverage (depending on how many photographers are present). I aim to deliver quality over quantity, so this essential part of telling your story takes ample time and care. When shooting film in addition to digital coverage I also deliver a special section film photos within your final gallery.

How much film do you shoot?

For a full day wedding I'll shoot between 2-8 rolls of film but the amount is always at my discretion, based on when I know it will yield great results. Some of my cameras only give me 10 or 16 exposures while others give me up to 36 frames.

Even a single roll of film gives me a great reference point so that digital files are edited to bear an even closer resemblance to film.

Great portraits take time.

Yessss. Hold your memories in your hands, people! Share them with family and friends when they visit, and pass them down for generations to come. I make sure that your prints and albums look exactly like what you see on screen.

Think: thoughtfully designed archival albums on luxe papers, bound in linen or leather.

I’ll guide you through the process, starting with our post-wedding meet-up.

Do you provide RAW unedited files?

No. Editing is an integral part of my craft, and ensuring that you have stunning, edited photos is a part of your investment. Not to toot my own horn here, but it would be like buying an unsigned painting by someone (relatively) famous. I have fancy storage to safely archive my files but WHEW they take up tons of virutal and physical space that you definitely don't want to worry about.

How do we decide on an enagement session?!

If you’ve ever felt awkward in front of a camera (honestly who hasn’t?) this is for you. It's an ideal way to hang out, build a rapport, and for you to get familiar with my shooting style. It also gives me a chance to see your natural dynamic ! Most importantly, this is a chance for you two take some time for yourselves during the planning process.

Engagement shoots can be a low pressure / fun date to someplace you visit all the time or a full-on adventure session: take a hike or day trip to a spot you love, or try an outing (tubing anyone?!) you haven’t gotten around to just yet.

If you're trying to keep it cozy, I can visit your space for an intimate but casual an-home session, or help you book a local boutique studio that suits your vibe.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Do you offer sneak peeks & when do we get our full gallery?

I offer sneak peeks upon request. Sneak peeks will most often be delivered in black & white, with colour edits, film scans, and full galleries delivered 8-12 weeks after your wedding day. This timeline allows me to pare down hundreds of photos to tell the story of your wedding day using the same care I captured it with. It allows me to scan and colour correct your film, and create an online gallery you can easily share with the people you love.

How do we get great portraits on our wedding day? What if we're super awkward & shy?

Do you travel for weddings?

As a highly sensitive person, I have a knack for helping people feel seen and comfortable, so don't worry, please! Everyone feels awkward at first, but nobody ever looks it. This is also why I genuinely care about & prioritize getting to know you two before the big day (this is what engagement shoots are for, too).

I take on a limited number of weddings each year so that I have time and energy to video chat, grab a coffee or drink IRL, and bring my whole self to the process with every couple. The result? You guys feel good & chill having me by your side .

PS. I'll give you prompts to keep things moving instead of rigid poses, helping you stay present, with your focus on each other & the feelings.

What gear do you use?

I use two Nikon DSLR bodies, and a selection of prime lenses. Having two cameras on me at all times ensures I have ample backup and that I don't have to change lenses as often! I have my gear updated & serviced at the start of every season.

When shooting analogue I tend to use medium format film (so the negatives are larger than your average point-and-shoot, or the cameras you probably found in your parents' garage). I use a Mamiya RZ Pro ii and a Fuji Ga645 among others. Each one is special and suits a different purpose! I also shoot on 35mm film using a Nikon F2.

Yup. Locally & world wide. Show me the places on Earth that you love, or let me suggest a unique venue that matches your vibe. Each wedding package includes ~ 90 minutes of local Toronto & GTA travel each way. When shooting locally or abroad, couples are responsible for my work permits which I can help navigate and obtain.
